GENERAL NURSING & MIDWIFERY (GNM)
General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) course is to prepare a qualified General Nurse who will function as member of a Health Team beginning with consultancies for first level position in both Hospital and community Health Services especially in rural areas. Course is affiliated to Jabalpur University. The institute prepares the students to develop an aptitude for nursing and to provide the required knowledge and skills to give comprehensive nursing care to patients of all types of illness.
GNM stands for General Nursing and Midwifery. It is a 3½ years long Diploma program. Academic program is 3 years long and 6 months are dedicated towards internship. 10+2 Science stream Physics, Chemistry Biology group (PCB) passed students are the most preferred ones with minimum 45% for OBC, SC,ST students & 50% for GENERAL students .
After completing this course, successful candidates may register themselves as registered nurse or midwife with state nurse registration council. Job profiles available in front of GNM Nurses are- Staff Nurse, Home Nurse, Health Visitor, Community Health Worker.
